Crop video

Remove picture edges before resizing, with a shaded preview and reusable profile settings.

Open in SmartCut64Tools > Crop Video…

Set the crop

  1. Open a video and wait for its stream information.
  2. Choose Tools > Crop Video. Resize the dialog to enlarge its preview. Drag a green edge or corner in the preview, or enter exact pixel values for Left, Top, Right and Bottom. The pixel controls and preview stay in sync. Dragging snaps to supported pixel boundaries and leaves at least 2 by 2 pixels. The shaded edges are removed; check the retained dimensions. Apply Crop keeps the crop for the next export, including when you choose a different output profile. Export applies the crop and opens Save Video directly. Cancelling Save Video retains the applied crop; saved profiles are not modified by this one-export crop.
  3. Choose OK to apply the crop to the selected profile for this export. Cancel preserves the previous crop; Reset Crop restores all edges to zero.

Reuse settings

Save reusable crop values in Tools > Edit Output Profiles. Native profile backup and restore include these values, and batch jobs use the selected profile's crop.

Encoding and HDR

Crop is applied before the output profile's resize and always requires a full video encode. HDR colour tags are retained, but Dolby Vision dynamic metadata is not preserved by re-encoding. Check the profile dimensions if the cropped picture should be resized to a specific size.
